Joseph Heckle sonorous, majestic, mournful, raging, serene, soaring.. EVOCATIVE. Thangorodrim doesn't have any bad records, and this is no exception. I find myself going to the Silmarillion and pondering what they might tackle next.. Bravo. Favorite track: Númenor.

herrwulf Perfect compositions. Extremely satisfying, exactly what I look for in this genre.

Kaptain Carbon 2017 was a success for Thangorodrim with the release and overwhelming support for Gil-Estel. Akallabêth is a victory lap for the artist with dive into well treaded territory. Based around the tales of the Silmarillion, this Tolkien themed EP acts more of a short tribute to the famous lengedarium and pays its respects with quite contemplation. Tolkien for dungeon synth is sort of expected but the work of Thangorodrim is established enough to make it a wonderful addition to any collection.

Gabriel Tamas A Thangorodrim album that came out of nowhere and took the Dungeon Synth scene by surprise. Totally unexpected, this small EP grows on you with every listen and, as usual, seems to foreshadow another outstanding release by this already cult project. Favorite track: Númenor.

Dave Aftandilian For all those in need of hope in a dark time. One of my favorite Tolkien-inspired dungeon synth artists.

thedungeonsyntharchives 2018 couldn't start in a better way ! This majestic release just came out from nowhere and is already the best thing I've heard since "Gil-Estel".. Majestic, ancient, the melodies are enchanting.. despite the journey is too short, it's enough to help you wander the shores of Middle-Earth.. Favorite track: Númenor.

"It is said by the Eldar that Men came into the world in the time of the Shadow of Morgoth, and they fell swiftly under his dominion; for he sent his emissaries among them, and they listened to his evil and cunning words, and they worshipped the Darkness and yet feared it. But there were some that turned from evil and left the lands of their kindred, and wandered ever westward; for they had heard a rumour that in the West there was a light which the Shadow could not dim."
